Install / Re-install Onyx Default Plugins

This article was posted in: Web Hosting

This guide is for:

  • Users migrating their site from their old host.
  • Users that may have deleted an Onyx plugin accidentally.

In order for Onyx’s WordPress hosting to function correctly it is strongly recommended you make use of our default plugins. If you have migrated your WordPress site to us from another host these are unlikely to be installed by default and so we’ve built a quick tool to re-install them for you.

To reinstall the default plugins follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your Onyx Portal
  2. Click the site you wish to install the plugins into
  3. Click Settings -> Tools on the left-hand menu
  4. Click Re-install default plugins button

That’s it! The default plugins will now install. Note, it may take a few moments to complete.

The default Onyx plugins include tools to enable content and object caching and include Nginx web server helpers and a Redis-Cache plugin. The default plugin installer will also enable the Onyx single sign-on feature for the site allowing administrators to jump straight into their WordPress Dashboard from the Onyx Portal.
