How to configure Mac Entourage 2008 for SSL IMAP

This article will show you how to configure Entourage 2008 for Mac to connect to a cPanel based mailbox using IMAP and SSL encryption.
This article assumes that you have already configured a mailbox using a Krystal cPanel account. To carry out the instructions in this article you will need the Manual Settings for your mailbox. You can obtain these in cPanel > Email Accounts by clicking on the More button next to your mailbox details, and selecting Configure Email Client.
Start Entourage from the Dock or from the Applications folder
From the Entourage menu, select Account Settings...
Select the Mail tab(1), then click the New menu button (2), then select IMAP from the Account type dropdown (3), and click OK (4).
In the Edit Account - Account Settings tab, fill out the details exactly as shown noting the following exceptions:
- E-Mail address : The mailbox email address in full
- Account ID : The mailbox email address in full
- IMAP Server & SMTP Server : This will be your home server address as supplied in your welcome email
Do not click OK yet!
Click the Click here for advanced receiving options button, and set the options as shown. Close this popup dialog by clicking the tiny box at the top left.
Click the Click here for advanced sending options button, and set the options as shown. Close this popup dialog by clicking the tiny box at the top left.
Click the Options tab, and select the options exactly as shown. If you wish you can also tick the Live Sync box to receive new mail faster. Now click OK.
You should now see your account listed in the Accounts dialogue box. Just double click it to open it again. Now from the Edit Account window, select the Advanced tab.
It should look exactly like the example shown. If not, then select the folders using the drop down boxes so it looks as shown. There is no need to view the Mail Security settings. Click OK.
Congratulations! You have now configured your email account for IMAP access. You will find the contents of your new mail account in the left column of Entourage.
If you do not see all of your folders, please select the View menu, and make sure that Subscribed Only is not ticked.
